The Lodi Area Fire Department is committed to helping keep our community safe through fire prevention, education, and routine fire inspections. As part of this effort, our department conducts fire inspections to help identify potential hazards, verify that required fire and life safety features are maintained, and support compliance with applicable fire codes and local requirements.
During the inspection, department personnel may review items such as exits and exit lighting, fire extinguishers, smoke or fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, electrical hazards, storage practices, address numbers, emergency access, and other fire safety conditions that apply to your occupancy.
To help the inspection go smoothly, please ensure that a responsible representative is available if access is needed, required keys or entry information are ready, and fire protection equipment, exits, utility rooms, mechanical rooms, and other inspection areas are accessible. If recent service records are required for systems such as fire alarms, sprinklers, suppression systems, or extinguishers, please have those records available for review.
If any corrections are identified during the inspection, our department will provide written notice outlining the items that need attention and the timeframe for correction. Our goal is to work cooperatively with property owners and businesses to improve safety and reduce the risk of fire-related emergencies.
